Functional peptide industrialization R&D department is the earliest professional team engaged in protein resource utilization and functional peptide R&D, result transformation and product application development in China. This department is based on high quality result transformation service and product application research work. Under the department, there is manufacturing center, basic research center and nutrition support and evaluation center, which are engaged in basic research, process and engineering research, and industrial production of product development, and are the first in the international arena to develop national and industrial standards for food-derived functional peptides. We have developed and produced a series of functional peptide ingredient products, and the production technology and product quality have reached the international leading level, filling the gap of peptide functional ingredients in China. Meanwhile, our department has joined hands with the top functional health care enterprises at home and abroad to jointly develop peptide nutritional food, food for special dietary use and health food. The emerging market and industry of billion-level peptide end products have been formed, which has become a new economic growth point in China's functional food industry.

Area 1: Natural protein functional peptide development and industrialization

We provide systematic services to our customers in all aspects such as natural protein functional peptide development and industrialization, functional research, separation and identification of functional ingredients and nutritional support and evaluation. The projects designed and industrialized by the department include 2500 tons of soybean peptide, 1500 tons of marine peptide and corn peptide, 1200 tons of wheat peptide, and 1500 tons of natural fruit and vegetable enzyme. Since the "Ninth Five-Year Plan", the team has overcome a number of keys and common technical difficulties in the industry, and has been the first in China to achieve the enzymatic preparation of food-derived functions.

The department takes natural agricultural, forestry and medicinal protein resources such as wheat, corn, soybeans, fish skin, peas, oysters, rice, black chicken, donkey skin, etc. as raw materials. Using modern biotechnology such as enzyme membrane coupling and directed enzyme cutting, we develop new natural protein functional peptides that can enhance nutritional health values and easy to digest and absorb, and realize industrial transformation. To develop new protein-based nutritional supplements and health food products with natural protein functional peptides as the main functional ingredients. To realize the high-value utilization of low-value agricultural and forestry resources and promote the upgrading of traditional nutritional health food in China.

Area 2: Development and industrialization of peptide-based fermented fruit and vegetable enzymes

The department takes fruits and vegetables as the main raw materials and adds natural protein functional peptides as fermentation enhancers and functional factors. After the fermentation and blending of compound strains, it forms a new generation of nutritional functional drinks rich in various natural plant functional factors, vitamins and mineral elements such as calcium, phosphorus and potassium, which has therapeutic effects such as regulating the gastrointestinal tract, improving immunity and lowering cholesterol. At present, the department has 5 industrialization projects completed under the auspices of the department, covering process research and development, strain selection and breeding, separation and identification of functional ingredients, the industrialization of design, and quality standard development. A variety of functional nutritional fermented fruits and vegetable juices have been developed and produced.

Area 3: Development and industrialization of functional peptide mineral element chelate

The department uses natural protein functional peptides as carriers to prepare mineral element chelates such as calcium chelate with marine collagen peptides, iron chelate with oyster peptides, zinc chelate with oyster peptides, selenium chelate with pea peptides and selenium chelate with maize peptides. We determined the structure of its characteristic peptide chelate, studied its transmembrane transport mechanism and factors affecting absorption, and explored the mechanism of its physiological effects, which can lay the foundation for the application of natural protein functional peptides to chelate mineral elements. Research shows that the functional peptide mineral element chelate can be directly absorbed by the intestinal mucosa cells, without toxic side effects and high bioavailability, which is an extremely ideal new mineral element supplement. Based on calcium, iron, zinc, selenium and other element deficient people in China, the industrialization prospect is promising.

Area 4: Functional peptide product development and functional peptide precision analysis and database technology research

The department uses a combination of biological fermentation and targeted enzymatic digestion to comprehensively enhance the raw material utilization of existing peptide products. Using the precise analysis and evaluation technology of functional peptides, a database of dipeptide based identification and a database of bioactive peptides are initially constructed.

We produce characteristic functional peptides by targeted enzymatic digestion, develop cutting-edge peptide products with clear functions, containing characteristic peptides and differentiating them from common peptide products in the market; and build up a comprehensive database of functional peptides with classified information.
