In May 2012, "Beijing Engineering Research Center of Protein and Functional Peptides" was approved by Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and inaugurated officially. Beijing Engineering Research Center of Protein and Functional Peptides is the first scientific and technological innovation platform engaged in the research and development of protein and functional peptides in China with manufacturing center, basic research center, nutrition support and evaluation center. It is based on the Food and Fermentation Industries Institute of China and co-established with Beijing TongRenTang Health-Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd and Beijing Food of China Hai Shi Co., Ltd. The center provides all-round and systematic services in the areas of fundamental research, process and engineering research, product development, functional research, separation and identification of functional ingredients, and nutritional support and evaluation. The center covers comprehensive utilization of natural protein resources, development of food-derived functional peptides and their in-vitro function evaluation, structure identification of efficacy components, development of peptide terminal products, industrial production technology research, and establishment of product technical standards. In order to realize the high-value utilization of low-value agricultural and forestry resources, and promote the upgrading of traditional medicine and nutritional health food, the center aims at establishing a research and development platform for deep processing and high-value utilization technology of natural protein resources, which faces on agricultural products processing, food industry and traditional medicine.

Industry status: Focus on peptide industrialization research for nearly 20 years, is a stable supplier of domestic leading application enterprises and international cooperation platform of peptide research.

Platform positioning: Cultivate and lead the development of domestic peptide industry market in all aspects, and develop the market of new fermented functional food ingredients.

Industrial base: Annual output of food-derived oligopeptide materials more than 2,500 tons in two peptide industrialized production bases, design and establish five new fermented functional food production lines.

Product fields: Functional peptide, hydrolyzed protein, fermented protein and peptides, peptide chelated minerals, peptide based fermentation of fruit and vegetable enzymes, terminal products.

Service fields: Product development, engineering design, system construction, applied research, efficacy evaluation, structure identification, etc.
