The National Center for Food Fermentation Standardization was established in 1978 and has long been dedicated to standardization in the food and fermentation industry. It has a standard work system consisting of more than 500 important technical experts in the fields of food safety, brewing, beverages, special diets, canning, industrial fermentation, food additives, baked food, frozen food, and other industries. A database of basic information on standardization in the food and fermentation industry has been built up over a long period. It has established long-term cooperation relationships, working mechanisms, channels and basic working platforms in the field of food standardization with relevant ministries and commissions such as the National Health and Family Planning Commission, the National Standardization Administration Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Commerce, as well as with domestic and international industry organizations, technical institutions and enterprises. It has carried out several tasks around standards, including the organization of standard production and revision, basic research on standardization, standardization technology development, technical consultation and information services. It has undertaken and organized the completion of more than 600 standards in food safety, products, methods, fundamentals and management in related fields, and has won more than 20 national and provincial science and technology progress awards and standard contribution awards. It has applied for more than 10 national invention patents, published more than 50 papers, and published more than 20 monographs, standard compilations and standard dissemination teaching materials.
