Application Introduction

With the continuous development and application of new processes and technologies, the types of food additives and food ingredients are being innovated and applied, and the requirements for their safety assessment and use management are becoming increasingly stringent. By studying the relevant regulatory systems of countries and regions such as the International Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC), the United States, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand, Canada, Japan and Korea, we have comparatively analyzed the definitions, licensing approvals, standard systems, use requirements, quality specifications, labeling, testing methods, and other technical management requirements, and established a database of the list of species permitted for use at home and abroad. It provides references and suggestions for the establishment and improvement of relevant standards and regulations in China, regulates the legal production and use of enterprises, and guides government supervision and management. Based on this, the Centre has revised more than 100 national food safety standards for products, methods and specifications related to food additives (including nutritional fortification agents).
